There are sometimes those moments where we “go off the grid”. The last two years were those years, for me, though I also learned many lessons. 2019 and 2020 were transformative years full of adventure, self-discovery and understanding. As they often say, growth can be painful.
While in this phase of life, we got hit with the pandemic. Needless to say, it’s not a fun topic, so let’s not talk about it.
What is interesting, though, is the lessons that have come in this time. These are some of the things I’ve learned:
1 – Happiness is an inside job;
2 – and yet, your environment can make a huge difference, too. Cultivate it if and when you can.
3 – Don’t rely on validation from others. Some people don’t even know how to be validating (yet).
4 – Do learn to validate yourself.
5 – Choose people who really want the best for you.
6 – Know what you want, by cutting out the external noise, ignoring the comparisons, and listening to yourself. What looks best for you may not be what others want for you.
7 – Go after what you want, while you can.
We’re still in a lockdown, but when it’s all over, we’ll have to step into who we were meant to be. That’s what I commit to. Do you?
